Turkey Leg or Crab Cake?

Last week we went to Historic St. Mary's City in south eastern Maryland for our 6th Wedding Anniversary. It was a brilliant idea and a fabulous family day.

Stilts!

It was much like a mini-Rennaissance festival, but Colonial America Festival. Fun Fun!
Sword-fighting!

At lunch time, we checked out the small list of options in the food barn. There were burgers, turkey legs, crab cakes, and hot dogs. I cannot recall if there was anything else. We had brought tons of water with us, so we didn't have to spend tons on pop and bottled water. We actually bought a 24 pack of bottled water on the way at Target for $3.49. Sweet. Each bottle was $1 at the place, so we rocked that. We ended up ordering a hot dog for the kid-boy ($2), a Turkey Leg ($5) and a crab cake ($10) to share. Stan downed the dog right quick and ate some of our turkey leg.

L-dog downed the crab cake, but he gave me a bite or two. I didn't much like it. Sarah and I handled the turkey leg.

There was no way to finish it. We kept on for about a half an hour, taking bites only to discover a whole new monster piece down there.

Stan took this picture.

It was an Energizer Turkey Leg, it kept going and going and going ...

Long story short, we spent $17 on the meal but could have probably all eaten off of that turkey leg.

On the way home, we ate at Chick-fil-A for about $14.

Entry to the festival was $20 ($10 each per adult and free for the kids).

All in all, not too shabby on the price for a FULL day of fun!

We almost went to the beach afterwards, but it was 5 o'clock already, and it cost another $5 a person to get into the park at Point Look Out. Booo! An hour of swimming for $20!? No, how about home instead. We slept very well that night. Very well.
