Tilapia with Garlic Butter, Rice, and Broccoli

So, once you've either done this or obtained some filets of your favorite fish, you can move on to a nice simple way of preparing them. I found my recipe here.

Ingredients & Prices
1 Fish - $4.19
2 tsp minced garlic - $0.12
dash salt - $0.01
dash pepper - $0.02
2 Tbsp Butter - $0.08
dash parsley - $0.04
dash paprika or dillweed (paprika here) - $0.03

2 Cups Rice - $0.36

5 Cups Broccoli - $1.00
2 Tbsp Butter (again) - $0.08

it's kind of eerie to me how perfect are the minced garlic pieces in a jar...
Melt 2 Tbsp butter in a saucepan and toss about with the garlic and spices. Line baking pan (if you so choose) with aluminum foil and brush with butter.

Brush the filets with garlic butter and place in the baking pan.

That's a lot of garlic. Yum.

Cook your rice and boil your broccoli.
Bake your tilapia in the oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or so.

This smells awesome.

Be sure to put the butter on the rice and broccoli right after it's done, so you get this happy melty thing going on. Oh, and you should know that it is possible to prepare this dinner with an eight month old on your hip crawling up you and biting you. That's a good thing to know, yes?

happy melty butter thing
